Mayed’s perspective:
From the time when I took Reem to the hospital until now she didn’t woke up nor move a muscle. She seemed pale and calm, she was like an angel. I stared at her as I clutched her hand into mine , they were cold. A tear fell from my eyes on her rosy cheeks. I swiftly wiped it away when the doctor knocked on the door. He required to speak to me so he told the nurse to stay with Reem.
Doctor: “ Mr. Mayed have a sit please.”
I sat on the chair facing him.
Doctor: “ Are you her husband?”
HUSBAND?!
Me: “ No doctor I’m her cousin, I didn’t covet to tell her parents so they wont get fearful and rush here.”
Doctor: “ I understand. Now about Miss Reem I did for her a check up and it turns out that there is nothing wrong with her. She fainted because her heart was racing rapidly and her head was spinning because she was going to crash into a car. There is nothing to worry about she will be ok.”
As I was about to respond to what he said suddenly the nurse came in informing us that Reem just woke up. I ran directly to her room and saw her staring at her hands…puzzled.
Reem: “ Laish ana hni? Who brought me here? Can someone explain please (crying).”
I rushed to the bed and tried calming her down. When she calmed down I spoke.
Me: “ La t9e7een Reem (wiping her tears away) , don’t worry you’re fine. I brought you here because you collapsed when you opened your door for me in the car. Everything is fine now.”
She nodded silently.
Reem: “ I want to go back home.”
The doctor said we were free to leave and so we did. I helped her get in the car even though she refused my help. I didn’t want anything to harm her even though the doctor said she is completely fine.
Reem’s perspective:
This is so embarrassing, what should I tell him stupid me why did I had to pass out. 7lailh he stayed with me in the hospital for I don’t know how many hours to check if I’m ok. If it was for another guy he would just leave me in my car or throw me in the hospital and just leave.
Me: “ I’m sorry Mayed I know that t3abtk wyaay when you wanted to go out. Sorry -”
He interrupted me when I was about to complete my sentence.
Mayed: “ la 3adi sho sorry b3ad. Ma t3abteeny wla shyaat (he winked at me).”
I don’t know what to say.. I smiled shyly ugh stupid me!! The only thing I’m excellent at in this world is being shy. Now he will think I’m unusual. I was dowsing off the entire time that I didn’t even hear what Mayed was saying.
Mayed: “ Wait here and don’t you dare move or you will regret it.”
Yah right.
Me:“ Where are you heading to?”
Mayed: “ La La I won't tell you it’s a surprise ;).”
With that he left and took his car key with him and locked the car. So now I’m stuck in the car like a thief in a jail. There is nothing else to do in here so I took out my blackberry from my channel bag. I sent a text to Elyazyh that I’m coming now and not to worry since she didn’t pick up her phone when I called. This is torture I cant even breath in this car, I want oxygen!! After talking to myself like an idiot , Mayed decided to show up. I was looking the other way in order not to make any eye contacts with this creature that I’m about to murder. He opened the car and got in but he didn’t start the engine .. Still ignoring.
I saw a cotton candy ice-cream with chocolate fudge right in front of my face. I glimpsed at him…pissed for what he did. I mean I’m neither a baby nor a burglar for him to lock the doors on me in a car.
Mayed: “ Why are you looking at me in this way? 7ad ga9 3laaich w galch hal ice-cream 7agich? No.”
I widened my eyes at him and immediately looked the other way. Sa5eef !!
Me: “ A9lan 3adi mno gal eny aba mb 7lw.”
Mayed: “ It’s your favorite bs you won’t get it trust me.”
I tried controlling myself before I really kill him.
Me: “ OK!”
Mayed: “ Ok then you won’t mind if I eat it right (laughing).”
I nodded annoyingly. Can one of you please slap him yes you I beg you he is getting on my nerves!! I glared at him angrily and punched him on his shoulder. After couple of seconds my arms got red while he kept laughing. My eyes began to water as tears kept curving down my cheeks.
Mayed: “ Reem asef wallah makan 8a9di (holding the ice-cream) take it I was joking, it was for you I’m sorry.”
Me: “ It’s not about that my hand hurts (showing him).”
Mayed: “ Look at me.”
I lifted my head up and looked at him strait in the eye. I was surprised for what I did I never look at a man in the eye I would always look down.
Mayed: “ La t9e7een wallah malh da3i , now wipe those tears away and eat your ice-cream ok yal daloo3a? ;) “
I wiped them, disregarding to what he said and grabbed the ice-cream from his hand.
Me: “ First thank you for the ice-cream and second I’m not daloo3a -_-.”
Mayed: “ Inshallah 3amooty enty mb daloo3a (mimicking my voice).”
I laughed at him, the whole ride was actually fun. I never knew that Mayed could be entertaining and somehow annoying. When we arrived Mayed took me inside and when Elyazyh saw me she ran and hugged me.
Elyazyh: “ Wain Reem kanat?”
She asked Mayed confused.
Me: “ Didn’t Mayed tell you?”
Elyazyh: “ No..nothing at all.”
Mayed: “ May59ch!”
With that he left. At this point I’m really perplexed , why didn’t Mayed tell Elyazyh that I was in the hospital? Why did he hide it from her and from anyone else? In the car he was a totally different person until we entered the house. Why is he hiding this part of him from everyone but not me? This person is mysterious I said to myself.
